Our cute little boy

So our Stewart is here. He was born on May 29, 2012 at 9:17 pm. He weighed 7 lbs. 1 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. He is such a cutie with a full head of dark hair. We are so grateful to have him here finally and that he is healthy and strong. Elise is so excited to have a baby brother. She hasn't got to hold him yet so I will have to put up some more pictures of our two cuties.

This is when I was in labor. We took the picture mostly to show my cute Christmas tree that I got to haul around anytime I wanted to go anywhere. It has fluids and my antibiotic, the pitosin and then the devices to make my monitors wireless when I was up.

Fun pics with our family up to May 26, 2012

So we have a lot of fun in our family. It is always fun to see what Elise will come up with next.
Elise loves to "help" you brush your teeth while you help her finish brushing her teeth.
We bought some books at a second hand store and as soon as we got home Elise immediately plopped down to start reading them. She loves books. I love that she loves reading and being read to.
Elise and Stetson having fun, as usual.
Elise playing with Josef on the swings.

She asks almost everyday who is coming to play at our house or who's house we are going to. She loves to play with other kids, especially her cousins. She will definitely love it when her baby brother is big enough to play with, I hope.
Elise pinning the fly on the frog's tongue at Troy's birthday party.
Josef and Elise having frog races at Troy's birthday party.
My little possum being so helpful when I was trying to make the bed.
Elise was eating a jolly rancher while we were shopping. She thought it was pretty fun that it turned her tongue blue.
For some reason when Elise crashes and can't quite make it through the day without a nap she crawls under the computer desk and goes to sleep. Usually when one of us is working on the computer but still I don't know why it is so comfortable.

Elise went and got my hair clips and decided to do her own hair. I hope she does a little better when she is older but for a almost three year old it wasn't too bad.
Our cute little princess in her chariot as we head off for a picnic at the park. She likes to use her umbrella to shade her from the sun.
My cute family on our walk to the park.
 May 7th.
May 28th. I got big a little slower this time but I think that I am definitely as big with Stewart as I was with Elise. I carry my babies all out front but that's okay.

Soon to come: pictures of our new baby boy. If he doesn't come before tomorrow then they are going to start me. So by the end of tomorrow we should for sure have our baby boy, yeah!

Spencer's Birthday

So Spencer was teasing me that for his birthday this year he wasn't sure how I was going to make as cool of a cake as last year (last year I made him a castle). It took me some time to think of a good idea but he quite liked it and it was a lot of fun to make.

Elise loves helping me cook. Especially when it comes to "cleaning up".

So I decided to make him the space shuttle. I had to make some adjustments as I went because my cakes are never quite like I picture them in my head but I still think it turned out really cool. The base is chocolate brownie, the shuttle is lemon cake, the orange liquid fuel tank was cupcakes and the two rocket boosters on the sides are rice krispies. The cupcakes had some issues so I got teased when this cake came apart because it had toothpicks, Shish Kabob sticks, a couple of butter knives, cardboard and two elastic bands. But you wouldn't guess that from looking at it so it's okay, right?

I realized when it was time to serve cake that I didn't have any candles like I thought I did so I resorted to redneck candles (matches). Although they burn down a little faster so I had to light another one when we got done singing for Spencer to blow out. The matches were pretty fun though because of the sound they make when they light is similar to a rocket sound.
We celebrated his birthday with his family at our house and then the next weekend we celebrated his and Carter's birthday at my parents with my family. I thought Carter would really like a Space Shuttle cake and since I had figured out some of the problems the first time I decided to do it again. So here is my second shuttle cake. Similar but different in a few ways. Not nearly as many extra things on the inside, partially because I used ding dongs instead of cupcakes this time. They stack much better.

No redneck candles this time but Mom bought relighting candles so it was still entertaining to watch as they  waited to see what candles would relight. The only problem this time was that Carter saw the cake and asked what it was. He thought it looked fun but apparently space is not his area of expertise.

Easter 2012

So Elise I think loves everything about Easter: coloring eggs, playing with plastic eggs, rolling eggs down the hill, looking for plastic eggs filled with candy, playing with cousins, being silly, just to name a few.

So here Elise is coloring eggs with her cousins. They all had a ball. You wouldn't guess that four children under the age of 5 could dye 8 dozen eggs so fast or not get distracted but they thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were soon looking for more eggs to dye.

Traygen really wanted the eggs. Unfortunately he is getting ahead of himself and wanted to just throw them on the floor. :)
I think Elise and Stetson would have dyed eggs all day long. Carter got bored after a while and was ready for the next part but Elise and Stetson started redyeing eggs when there was no more white ones. We finally had to start disappearing eggs or they would have stayed there all day and all of our eggs would have been brown.

It is a tradition on my mom's side of the family to roll Easter eggs down the hill, go get them and continue until they are completely broke apart. Our kids love it just as much as we did.

Elise got tired after a while so started throwing them sitting down. How many Easter eggs can you find?

My aunt also brought kites for the kids to fly. Elise thought that the princess kite was by far the very best. She doesn't completely get the concept of getting a kite to stay up by she sure loves to watch it fly and she had daddy to help her get it back up when it fell; so what else does she need.

After a while of flying her kite and walking around some she came up to me and laid on my leg. Yes, she is still flying her kite from laying down. I guess she could watch it better, or something.
Stetson and Elise have quite the little conversation even if the rest of us don't have any idea what it is about.
Stetson and Elise had to make sure Grandpa made it down the hill okay. :)
Elise loved finding the plastic eggs in the yard.
 Elise and her Easter basket.
Elise being her silly self with her silly sheep. :)
We have some more pics from our Easter morning at our house but they are all on video right now. So I will add the rest when we get them pulled off the video.
